Ecology and renewable technologies were the main basis of Expo Achi 2005. The theme was “The wisdom of Nature”

The event costed 3 bilions dollars. 121 countries and 5 international organizations attended it. The Expo took place in 3 different cities: Seto, Nagakute e Toyota. The main location of 1,8 square kilometers was immersed into greenery and allowed educational paths into the nature.

The 6 exhibition sites realized with the lowest environmental impact, named “Global Commons” were connected between them, and easily accessible thanks to a suspended footbridhe (Global Loop) 2,6 kilometers long. The suspended bridge was made purposely to preserve as much as possible the 13 ponds in the area.

One year after Nagakute Area became Aichi ExpoMemorial Park with the children plaza, a museum, a covered pool, and an ice palace. Seto Area now host the Kaisho Forest Center.
