Alitalia and Etihad Airways for Expo 2015
The main Italian airline company Alitalia and the national airline of the United Arab Emirates have been awarded the role of Global Official Airlines Carriers for Expo Milano 2015. The partnership between the two airline carriers allows the city of Milan to be connected with over 866 destinations, providing about 100 flights each day. Specifically for Expo 2015, there will be a higher frequency of flight connections, especially on intercontinental routes, with the promotion of packages and special fees to allow people from all over the world to reach easily the main metropolitan hub of Lombardy. Alitalia and Etihad Airways are jointly involved in Expo2015 with a multimedia pavilion of 12,000 ft², built on a three story building next to Palazzo Italia.The journey in the pavilion begins on the first floor within the social hub of about 6,200 ft² dedicated to events and meetings regarding the issues promoted by the Expo. An area designed to create interactive media that can be followed or commented directly on the main social channels, such as Facebook or Twitter, simply by clicking on the hashtags #EtihadAlitalia and #EXPO2015. The tour in the pavilion continues on the second floor in a luxury lounge built to welcome the Expo’s visitors. Going further up, guests can also have access to the conference room dedicated exclusively for meetings. The two airlines have paid their regards to the Universal Exhibition with a special airplane livery with the colors and logo of Expo 2015 applied to the aircrafts A330 of Alitalia and A330-200 of Alitalia Etihad Airway, which will be flying from October 2014 in the skies around the whole world.
